BACKGROUND: 

At the October 6, 2026, Board of County Commissioner meeting, the Board directed staff to bring back an amendment extending the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Las Vegas and County of Clark until February 22, 2027.

On October 7, 2026, Las Vegas City Council approved the First Amendment subject to the Board's ratification of the County Manager's execution of the amendment.  The Las Vegas City Council also approved issuing a 60 day notice of termination of the existing Interlocal.  If the Board does not ratify the County Manager's execution of the First Amendment, the Interlocal will expire on December 21, 2026.

Staff recommends ratification of the First Amendment.
