BACKGROUND:
This Contract is for the purchase, installation, services and maintenance of the Clark County Detention Center control room and security system with Status Electrical Corporation (LBE).
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because the system and its components are a sole source that can only be procured, installed and maintained by Status Electrical Corporation.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract is from date of award through July 30, 2023 and includes the option to renew for 4, one-year periods.
• Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(a), the competitive bidding process is not required as the item to be purchased is contracted from a sole source; (b), the services to be performed are professional in nature; (c), the additions to and repairs and maintenance of equipment may be more efficiently added to, repaired or maintained by a certain person; and (d), the equipment which, by reason of the training of the personnel or of an inventory of replacement parts maintained by the local government is compatible with existing equipment.
Status Electrical Corporation currently holds a Clark County Business License.
