BACKGROUND: 

The Clark County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is eligible for funding through this grant by maintaining compliance with the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) policies. This grant will provide funding for eighteen (18) representatives from various fire departments and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, to attend the FireShowsWest Conference for local first responders to be trained and prepared in mitigating hazardous material incidents.

The State of Nevada Emergency Response Commission made the Local Emergency Planning Commission aware of this funding availability on February 17, 2022. The Local Emergency Planning Commission (LEPC) met on March 15, 2022 and approved this application. The grant application was submitted on March 23, 2022.

Staff recommends that the Board ratify the submission of the attached grant application.
