BACKGROUND:
The claim is a result of a motor vehicle accident on January 09, 2026, whereby the County vehicle and the claimant vehicle exited Summerlin Parkway at Buffalo, the County driver stated his foot slipped off the brake and he rear ended the claimant’s vehicle. The total medical treatment was at $57,282.81 not including estimated costs for potential future medical bills. Through negotiations with legal counsel for the claimant, the claimant has agreed to accept $77,500.00 in settlement of the bodily injury claim to avoid any further costs and legal expenses of possible litigation in this case. If the settlement is approved, the County would also avoid costs and expenses of any future litigation.The proposed settlement has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
