BACKGROUND: 

Ms. Virginia Eichacker was selected to fill the open position of the Special Public Defender effective March 4, 2024. 

In 2019, Ms. Eichacker was promoted to Assistant Public Defender in the Clark County Public Defender's Office by current Public Defender Darin Imlay.  She has 30 years of experience as a criminal defense attorney in the Clark County Public Defender's Office, where she was also a team chief for nearly 15 years, supervising numerous Deputy Public Defenders.  Throughout her career, Ms. Eichacker represented thousands of indigent clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors, as well as trying all types of cases from traffic to capital murder.  Additionally, she has argued before the Nevada Supreme Court.  Ms. Eichacker's vast experience will be of great value to Clark County.
