BACKGROUND:
This Contract is for the design services and development of concept options for the new rehabilitation center with Gensler Architecture, Design & Planning P.C. dba Gensler (NBE).
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because the firm was originally selected through the normal rotation from SOQ 604940-18, Professional Services for Real Property Management under the large service category to provide predesign services. During the performance of these services, SOQ 604940-18 expired and was replaced with SOQ 607190-24. Firm is included on the SOQ list under the New Construction category. This Contract is to continue services for preparation of construction documents for permitting and bidding, contract administration, and other professional services for this project. Continued use of the firm will allow the project to advance without disruption and will enable the county to fully leverage prior design efforts, work products and approved entitlements actions.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract shall be from date of award through December 31, 2028. Completion of all services shall be prior to December 31, 2028 or such date is amended by Clark County.
• Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(b), the competitive bidding process is not required as the services to be performed are professional in nature.
