BACKGROUND:

To provide a comprehensive review of Outside Agency Grant (OAG) requests, Community Resources Management initiates a grant application and internal review process each year. This year nonprofit agencies and local governments within the County completed an application for funding detailing information related to proposed projects, budgets, and information concerning their nonprofit status and agency management.

On July 19, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved the allocation of $1,500,000 in FY 2023 County Community Initiatives Outside Agency Grant funds.

Thereafter, one of the grantees, Desert Spring United Methodist Church, had a name change in which they established the non-profit agency Desert Spring Community Resource Center.  The newly established resource center will assume all operations of the Resource Case Management program originally selected for funding.

Approval of this agenda item will allow for the original award to be transferred to Desert Spring Community Resource Center.

The District Attorney's office has reviewed and approved this item as to form.
