The total approval award was in the amount of not to exceed $5,500,000. To date, the total approval amount used is $567,254. The additional funding increase of $1,200,000 will bring the total approval amount to $6,700,000. |
BACKGROUND:
On January 3, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 606463-22 to Firetrucks Unlimited LLC (NBE) in the amount of not to exceed $5,500,000 for the refurbishment and remount of fire apparatus and fire ambulance.
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because a local vendor is necessary to efficiently resolve issues with truck configurations and inspections. Firetrucks Unlimited LLC is the only local vendor that can provide these specific services.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the approval:
• The term of the approval was from date of award through June 30, 2023 and included the option to renew for 4, one-year periods. There are 3 renewal options remaining.
• Hourly rate for labor and fixed percentage mark up for parts with an automatic 3% increase on labor rate each year beginning July 1, 2023.
• Clark County is not under exclusive contract with Firetrucks Unlimited LLC and therefore, can cease purchasing product / services at any time.
This approval will provide additional funding for the refurbishment and remount of fire apparatus and fire ambulances for Moapa Valley Fire District.
Firetrucks Unlimited LLC currently holds a Clark County Business License.
