BACKGROUND: 

In order to preserve access to inpatient and outpatient hospital services for needy individuals in the State of
Nevada, the State’s Medicaid hospital reimbursement system shall provide supplemental payments to University
Medical Center (UMC). In consideration of these payments, Clark County will make payment to the DHCFP in
an amount equal to the federally required participation share of the total inpatient and outpatient Medicaid Upper
Payment Limit (UPL) supplemental payments made to UMC from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2029.

Amendment #1 changes the name of the State Department from Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Care Financing and Policy to Nevada Health Authority per the 83rd Legislative Session- SB494 effective July 1, 2025.
