BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Department of Family Services (DFS) is receiving supplemental American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funds in order fund a Clinical Division.

This funding will create a full array of services for children, youth and families at risk of involvement with
social services and child welfare services. The service array will be designed to meet their behavioral, mental, health, intellectual, and developmental needs. This will include community-based assessments and treatment options to promote healthy development, preserve the family unit, continue engagement in education, and maintain the highest levels of funding.

The award process for this grant differs from the normal grant application process as funding is made available to the State and passed through to DFS as a subrecipient without application submission or competitive process. The State has made the grant award in accordance with NRS353.263.

Staff requests the Board approve and accept any funds awarded.
