BACKGROUND:
On January 30, 2026, a notice of interest was issued in NGEM allowing companies to express their interest in participating in RFP No. 2026-02 for Clinical Engineering, Equipment Distribution Management and Project Management Services. The RFP was also published in the Las Vegas Review Journal on February 1, 2026. On March 16, 2026, responses were received from: HERO Business, Inc. The InterMed Group Intelas Health, Inc. Mass Technologies LLC An ad hoc committee (comprised of UMC Administration, Radiology, OR, Pathology and Critical Care Services) reviewed the proposals independently and anonymously, and recommends the selection of, and contract approval with Intelas Health, Inc.
Intelas Health will manage and maintain UMC’s Clinical Engineering Department in compliance with all DNV, State of Nevada, and other regulatory agencies and project requirements, as detailed in Exhibit A’s Scope of Work (the “Agreement”). Intelas Health’s services will include, but are not limited to, the following: • Management of all departmental staff needed for the successful operation of services. • Handle biomedical and laboratory purchases of products, supplies, equipment and services that are owned or leased by UMC (for items identified in the Equipment List); monitor equipment for safety and proper performance; manage third party contracts; and provide medical equipment repairs and planned maintenance for biomedical and imaging equipment. • Perform equipment cleaning and Distribution Management Services for mobile and portable medical equipment; monitor equipment par levels within each department and notify hospital when additional equipment is needed to maintain par levels; recommend whether to repair or replace medical equipment based on life cycle data analytics; and perform equipment inspections and recalls. • Provide project management to UMC’s third party Real-Time Location System, which tracks (i) physical assets/equipment and (ii) people via radio frequency identification to support hospital’s loss prevention efforts. • Perform quality control, training and development, and operational and technical support. • Guarantee the financial outcome of the program for all covered items and provide on-site support during both scheduled and unannounced regulatory agency inspections.
The term is from November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2031 with the option to extend for two, 1-year periods. Either party may terminate the Agreement for its convenience with a 90-day written notice. Year 1 cost is $4,250,341.08 and is subject to (i) annual CPI adjustment of up to 3%, and (ii) Equipment Additions/Deletions capped at 25% annually.
Staff has negotiated the terms of the Agreement and fees associated with these services and found them equitable for the work to be performed. Staff also requests authorization for the Hospital CEO to (i) sign the Service Agreement; (ii) exercise any extension options; and (3) execute future amendments that address the addition or deletion of equipment and needed services for all hospital locations within the constraints of the Agreement.
UMC’s Executive Director for Continuum of Care has reviewed and recommends award of this Agreement, which has been approved as to form by UMC’s Office of General Counsel.
This Agreement was reviewed by the Governing Board at their September 30, 2026 meeting and recommended for award by the Board of Hospital Trustees.
