BACKGROUND:
The claim is a result of a motor vehicle accident on July 26, 2021, whereby the Clark County vehicle failed to stop and rear-ended the vehicle in which the claimant was riding. The County employee was listed as the party at fault in the accident. The total cost of the medical treatment the claimant received as a result of the accident is $23.599.65. Through negotiations with legal counsel for the claimant, the claimant has agreed to accept $46,000.00 in settlement of the bodily injury claim. By settling the case, the County will avoid costs and expenses of any future litigation.The proposed settlement has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
