BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Desert Inn Road from 1,250 Feet West of Cimarron Road to Bronco Street project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3275 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The project consists of roadway improvements on Desert Inn Road from 1,250 feet west of Cimarron Road to Bronco Street. The work to be performed includes milling and installing one-inch ultra-thin asphalt concrete surface (UTACS), installing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) conduit and pull box, traffic signal modifications, pavement markings, and other necessary appurtenances to construct a complete and functional roadway. The design for the project was funded by Clark County. The design is at least 90 percent complete, and all necessary right of-way to construct the project has been obtained. This project is also supported through funding contributions from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT). The term of the contract is effective until June 30, 2031, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3275 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on June 11, 2026.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
