BACKGROUND:
On January 23, 2026, the Office of Sports and Special Events received an application from Insomniac Holdings, LLC to hold the special event, World Party Parade, on May 14, 2026, at 2880 South Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (Las Vegas Festival Grounds).
The special event is an outdoor music festival featuring a parade along Las Vegas Boulevard. Attendance is expected to be approximately 30,000 spectators. The parade is planned to begin at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, travel south on Las Vegas Boulevard, make a U-turn at Genting Boulevard, then head north to conclude back at the Festival Grounds. The parade is expected to last about 80 minutes. Event setup is scheduled to begin on May 11, 2026, with breakdown anticipated to be completed by May 17, 2026.
Under Clark County Code 2.70.050(E), an applicant for a Special Event Preliminary Approval may be required to appear before the Board for a public hearing under certain conditions. A public hearing is required for this application because the event will require a road closure of the Las Vegas Boulevard and/or will have significant impact on the roadways adjacent to Las Vegas Boulevard. Due to the parade, this Special Event also has the potential to cause disorder, disturbances, excessive loitering, nuisances at or near Las Vegas Boulevard.
Staff recommend that the Board consider whether to approve or deny the application, and if approved, whether any conditions should apply.
