BACKGROUND:

The Moapa Valley Fire Protection District Advisory Board serves as a community-based body that provides feedback and recommendations to the Board of Fire Commissioners, the Clark County and Moapa Valley Fire Chiefs regarding the delivery of fire protection and emergency medical services within the District.

The proposed amendments to the By-laws conform to and align with the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement between the Moapa Valley Fire Protection District and Clark County, ensuring the Advisory Board’s role supports the County’s provision of administrative support, operational oversight, and control of fire suppression and emergency medical services within the District.

Approval by the Board of Fire Commissioners is required pursuant to Article 10 of the current Bylaws.
