BACKGROUND:
The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) provides a vehicle for citizen participation in the County's U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant programs. CDAC meetings for the County's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs will be held from January 2025 through March 2025. The CDAC will work with staff to review program proposals and make funding recommendations. The CDAC has also provided input for the 2025 Regional Fair Housing and Equity Assessment, and the process to gather community input for the County's 2025-2029 HUD Consolidated Plan. Committee composition includes: one representative and one alternate from each of the town advisory boards, citizens advisory councils and one from the Cities of North Las Vegas, Mesquite, and Boulder City, as well as 14 at-large individuals representing general community concerns. Town advisory boards and citizens advisory councils have submitted nominees for Commission appointment. The Cities of North Las Vegas, Boulder City, and Mesquite are authorized to make their own respective appointments who serve in an ex-officio manner. The Commission appointed the 14 at-large members during FY2023-2024 and will continue to serve two-year terms. Staff recommends that Mr. Christopher Lee continue to serve as Chair and Mr. Eric Jeng serve as Vice-Chair. The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved this item as to form.
