BACKGROUND:
This Competitive Bidding Exception is for the purchase of parts and services for transmission-related repairs on all of Fire Department's 35 fire apparatus with The W.W. Williams Company, LLC (NBE).
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because The W.W. Williams Company, LLC is the sole authorized distributor for Allison transmissions.
The following are the pertinent provisions of this approval:
• The term of the approval is from date of award through June 30, 2027 and includes the option to renew for 4, one-year periods. New quote will be obtained every year for July 1st through June 30th.
• Clark County is not under exclusive contract with The W.W. Williams Company, LLC and therefore, can cease purchasing product / services at any time.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(a), the competitive bidding process is not required as the item to be purchased is contracted from a sole source; (b), the competitive bidding process is not required as the services to be performed are professional in nature; (c), the competitive bidding process is not required as the additions to and repairs and maintenance of equipment may be more efficiently added to, repaired or maintained by a certain person.
The W.W. Williams Company, LLC currently holds a Clark County Vendor Registration.
