BACKGROUND:

On May 1, 1993, Clark County (County) entered into a Lease agreement with the Clark County School District (CCSD) for the use of 114 West Surprise Street, Searchlight, Nevada for the operation of a community and youth center (Lease), now known as the Searchlight Youth Center (Property). The Lease expired on April 30, 2002, and the County continued to occupy the Property on a month-to-month basis.

On June 21, 2016, the County entered into a new Interlocal Agreement (Agreement) with CCSD to continue leasing the Property with no payment for rent.  The Agreement is due to expire on April 30, 2025 with the provision to extend the Agreement by a letter signed and dated by both CCSD and the County listing any and all changes as well as approval from both governing parties.  This letter will extend the Agreement for an additional period of ten (10) years, expiring on April 30, 2036.  County will continue to be responsible for full maintenance and all utilities.

This item was presented to the County's Long Range Planning Committee on February 26, 2025.
