BACKGROUND:

On August 15, 1989, the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, approved the establishment of a change bank in the amount of $200.00 for the Department of Comprehensive Planning.  The purpose of this change bank was to allow the Department to make change for cash paying customers.

On July 6, 2004, the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, approved a $50 increase in the amount held in the change bank for a total of $250.

Since the number of customer transactions involving cash has diminished over the years, the Department no longer feels that it needs to maintain the current $250 balance in the change bank and would request the reduction to $150.

Appropriate adjustments will be made to the general ledger for the returned funds.
