BACKGROUND:

Pursuant to NRS 237.090, a Business Impact Statement (BIS) was prepared for the proposed ordinance to amend Title 13, Chapter 04 of the Clark County Code by adding section 13.04.275 relating to the design, operation, maintenance, and commissioning of single lane tunnel systems designated Chapter 42 of the International Fire Code.   Notice of the proposed rule was provided on March 23, 2026, through publication, website posting, and direct notification to stakeholder organizations.  A fifteen (15)-day public comment period was provided, during which zero (0) responses were received.

The BIS concludes that the proposed ordinance will not impose a direct and significant economic burden upon a business and does not directly restrict the formation, operation, or expansion of a business.

Staff recommends approval of the BIS pursuant to NRS 237.090.
