BACKGROUND:

On August 2, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved an Agreement authorizing $500,000 of Clark County marijuana fees to Nevada Legal Services for their Clean Slate Project.  Nevada Legal Services is a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to low-income residents of Clark County, including criminal record sealing services through the Clean Slate Project.  The Clean Slate Project provides stability for individuals and families, which helps overall community stability.

The First Amendment will extend the expenditure of the funds until February 28, 2025.

Staff recommends approval of the First Amendment to the Agreement between Clark County and Nevada Legal Services.
