BACKGROUND:

NRS 461A.215, adopted by the 2003 Nevada Legislature in Assembly Bill (A.B.) 230 and amended in 2005, requires the board of directors or trustees of a mobile home park that meets the statutory criteria to consist of three (3) directors or trustees who are residents of the mobile home park and elected by park residents, three (3) directors or trustees appointed by the governing body of the local government with jurisdiction over the location of the park, and three (3) directors or trustees elected by a majority of the other directors or trustees selected pursuant to the statutory provision. In the 2009 Legislative Session, the Nevada Legislature passed A.B. 523 that amended NRS 461A.215 to change the term of office from two (2) years to four (4) years on a staggered basis.

The Las Vegas Jaycees Senior Citizens Mobile Home Community Corporation, located at 5805 W. Harmon Avenue in unincorporated Clark County, meets the criteria of this statutory provision.

There is currently one (1) vacancy on the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Jacyees Senior Citizens Mobile Home Community Corporation. Deanne O'Rear-Cameron has expressed interest in serving. Staff has received an application from Deanne O'Rear-Cameron that is attached to this agenda item.

The Board is asked to appoint Deanne O'Rear-Cameron to serve on the Las Vegas Jaycees Senior Citizens Mobile Home Community Corporation Board of Directors for a four-year (4-year) term ending June 30, 2030.
