BACKGROUND:
On December 7, 2020, the Las Vegas Justice Court ("LVJC") entered into an agreement with Matterhorn to provide LVJR with a web-based platform for online dispute resolutions, which also included payment processing for LVJC. The online dispute resolution and payment processing was implemented on or around November 2, 2021. On or around October 18, 2022, the parties made modifications to the Agreement to support services related to AB116 (2021). Matterhorn provided the services under the agreement but failed to invoice LVJC from January 2022 until October 2023. To resolve the unpaid invoices, the LVJC has agreed to pay $896,987 for the services provided. The parties have also agreed to terminate the agreement and entered into this settlement agreement to resolve all disputes regarding the agreement. Due the County's financial oversight of the LVJC and the waiver of any claims by Clark County against Matterhorn, the County was a signatory to the agreement. Staff is requesting ratification of this settlement.
