BACKGROUND:

On December 15, 2020 the Board of County Commissioners approved the appointments of twenty-eight (28) members to the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) for 2020 through 2021. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the citizens’ advisory councils (CACs) from the Towns of Lower Kyle Canyon and Mountain Springs CAC postponed their meetings therefore nominations were subsequently delayed. The Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) provides a vehicle for citizen participation into the County's U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant program.  CDAC meetings for the County's HOME and Emergency Solutions Grant programs will be held monthly through February 2021, beginning January 2021.

Committee composition includes a representative and alternate from each of the town advisory boards, citizens advisory councils and from the Cities of North Las Vegas, Mesquite and Boulder City, as well as fourteen at-large individuals representing general community concerns. It is recommended that the Board appoint Susan Davis of the Lower Kyle Canyon CAC and Tanya Harrah from the Mountain Springs CAC to serve on the CDAC.
