BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved and budgeted funding for design of the Hub 5 Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) facility in the amount of $500,000 in RTC's Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2024. RTC, in coordination with Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, City of Boulder City, and City of Mesquite (collectively "Entities") intends to design the new Hub 5 ITS facility to replace the existing Hub 5 facility, which is approaching the end of its lifecycle.

Hub 5 serves as a key network component in the regional transportation communication system. In its new permanent, future location, the Hub 5 facility will provide enhanced security and sustainability for the communication network. The Needs Assessment Report and design plans for this project are expected to take approximately eighteen months to complete. The time of performance is effective to June 30, 2029, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on February 8, 2024.

Each of the Entities is scheduled to approve the interlocal contract at their respective Board/Council meetings.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
