BACKGROUND:

The Planning Division of the Metropolitan Planning Organization of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) was awarded with a Unified Planning Work Program project to inventory the regional bikeways and sidewalks comprising the jurisdictions of Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, and City of Henderson (collectively "Member Entities").  RTC approved funding for the "Regional Bikeway and Sidewalk Inventory Project" to be used along with funds received from the Unified Planning Work Program award.

The attached Interlocal Contract No. 1264 identifies RTC as the lead agency and provider of all costs associated with the Regional Bikeway and Sidewalk Inventory Project (Clark County Public Works Project No. PW.R00249A).  This interlocal contract also provides funds necessary to enhance data collection and other benefits to the Member Entities such as ADA transition plans, sidewalk maintenance programs, maintenance funding distribution, and updates to existing bike and trail maps.  The interlocal contract will be in effect to June 30, 2026, unless term is extended or entirely terminated.

RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on March 11, 2021.

Each of the other Member Entities is scheduled to approve the interlocal contract at their respective Board/Council meetings.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
