BACKGROUND:

In accordance with the Clark County Code 2.07.040, the Board of County Commissioners appoints eleven members to the Department of Family Services (DFS) Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to offer opinions and recommendations concerning the facilities, services and resources provided by DFS.  The eleven members represent the following groups: court appointed special advocate (1 member); foster and adoptive parent (1 member); local juvenile probation services (1 member); parent advocate (1 member); private provider of mental health care (1 member); Clark County School District (1 member); youth with foster care experience (1 member); general public (2 members); and child welfare advocates (2 members).

DFS is actively recruiting to fill three vacant CAC positions as follows:  one general public; one private provider of mental health; and one Clark County School District member.  There is one applicant who is qualified.  Pamela Roberts has submitted an application to be appointed to the CAC.  Pamela is qualified to serve on the CAC as a private provider of mental health care.  Therefore, Staff respectfully recommend that Pamela Roberts be appointed to the CAC as a private provider of mental health care member.
