BACKGROUND:
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved and budgeted funding for the Advanced Transportation and Congestion Management Technologies Deployment (ATCMTD) - US-95 Project Integrated Safety Technology Corridor project (Clark County Public Works No. PW.R258AFT) in RTC's Highway Acquisition Fund for Fiscal Year 2022. RTC, in coordination with Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, City of Boulder City, and City of Mesquite (collectively "Entities") intends to design, construct, operate and evaluate various safety technologies along US-95 between Interstate 515 and Summerlin Parkway. The Board of County Commissioners approved the interlocal contract on October 5, 2021.
The interlocal contract identified RTC as the lead agency. Through Agreement No. 21-061 with the Federal Highway Administration and Agreement No. P293-21-063 with the Nevada Department of Transportation, RTC secured funding to cover costs associated with the project. One supplemental to Interlocal Contract No. 1304 was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on October 17, 2023 to change the RTC funding account for the project.
Supplemental No. 2 to Interlocal Contract 1304 increases funding by $6,750,000 for the RTC non-federal share of the project due to the project cost increasing.
RTC approved the second supplemental interlocal contract at its meeting on December 14, 2023.
Each of the Entities is scheduled to approve the second supplemental interlocal contract at their respective Board/Council meetings.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the second supplemental interlocal contract as to form.
