BACKGROUND:
In February 2023, the Clark County Commission adopted a resolution to recognize the Las Vegas Grand Prix (LVGP) as an annual event beneficial to Clark County. The resolution included waiver of the 120-day time limitation for filing applications pursuant to Title 16, Section 16.06.150 of the Clark County Code. Moreover, the resolution granted a waiver of Title 16, Section 16.06.060 - Restriction on streets and times for the event, on Las Vegas Boulevard South. The resolution stated that the LVGP will take place annually from Wednesday to Sunday, the week before Thanksgiving in November, from 2023 to 2032.There have been three (3) LVGP events since 2023, and each has provided a positive impact on the local economy. LVGP is committed to the continuing the advancement and success of the event, including efficiencies related to the installation and removal required for the event. The amended resolution designates that the LVGP will be held as an annual event through 2037.
