BACKGROUND:
This Contract is for the operation and management of the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center (VSRC) with Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Inc. (NBE).
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved because VSRC was developed and became a healing and support center dedicated to serving as a resource and referral center for residents, visitors and first responders affected by October 1, 2017 shooting incident. The Center has been managed by staff from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada who are knowledgeable and caring professionals that help people access resources to help them build strength and resiliency in the aftermath of the incident. Services will continue for all victims of crime, including the survivor of Route 91 mass shooting.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract is from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024 and includes the option to renew for 3, one-year periods and includes a 1-month extension.
• Includes the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(b), the competitive bidding process is not required as the services to be performed are professional in nature.
Legal Aid of Southern Nevada, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
