BACKGROUND:
Each year, the Board is asked to allocate funds available in multiple County capital project funds to support projects essential to County operations. Due to FY25 budgetary savings, investment earnings, and available remaining funds from closed projects, a total of approximately $149,959,336 is available this year for pay-as-you-go capital projects.
In 2022 the State of Nevada agreed to a multistate settlement with the manufacturers and distributors of opioids. The County will use $191,000,000 of this funding for the design and construction of an Opioid Treatment Center of which the Board of County Commissioner has already allocated $64,632,513.
