BACKGROUND:
The augmentation procedure, as prescribed by NRS 354.598005, is a two-meeting process and this action represents the final step in this process. At the May 5, 2026 Board of County Commissioners meeting, the Board directed the Clerk to publish the Notice of Intent to Act on a Resolution to Augment the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Fund (2080) budget.
The additional appropriations will be used for salaries and wages, employee benefits, services and supplies, and capital outlay.
The publication was accomplished on May 9, 2026, to meet legal requirements. Therefore, in order to complete the augmentation procedure, the attached Resolution to Augment the Fiscal Year 2026 Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (2080) must be adopted. Following adoption of the Resolution to Augment, the Resolution will be forwarded to the State of Nevada Department of Taxation.
