BACKGROUND: 

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Blue Diamond Road between Buffalo Drive and Montessouri Street project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2026.

Interlocal Contract No. 3259 provides funds for construction of the subject project. The project consists of street widening along the south side of Blue Diamond Road between Buffalo Drive and Montessouri Street. The work to be performed includes roadway excavation and construction, median modifications, signing and striping, curb and gutter, pavement, and other appurtenances required to construct a complete and functional project. The design for the project was funded by Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada Project 173F. The design is at least 90 percent complete, and all necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained. The term of the contract is effective until June 30, 2031, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3259 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on March 12, 2026.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
