BACKGROUND:
The District requires ongoing consultant services to support and maintain effective Oracle Database Administration. The consulting services encompass a range of activities, including analyzing, monitoring, supporting, modifying, and offering recommendations for Oracle databases in the District’s data center. Additionally, the consultant services includes Unix/Linux support and troubleshooting and aiding staff with general systems administration issues crucial for maintaining continuous optimal operational standards for Oracle systems relied upon by District systems administrators.
Staff recommends that the Board approve and authorize the General Manager to sign an agreement with Syquestsoft Inc. for Oracle DBA Consulting Services. Staff will submit an annual report to the Board detailing incurred expenditures.
The following are pertinent provisions of the agreement:
• The initial term of the contract is from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027;
• The contract includes the option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods with a price increase not to exceed 10% for each year of the contract term;
• This contract includes the District's option to terminate or suspend for cause or convenience with advance written notice.
In accordance with NRS 332.115(1)(b) and (i), the competitive bidding process is not required because the purchase is for professional services, and maintenance and support for computer hardware and software. Syquestsoft Inc. (LBE) currently holds a Clark County business registration.
This agenda item has been reviewed and approved by the District General Counsel.
