BACKGROUND:

The Regional Flood Control District (RFCD) has provided funding for the State Route 163 at Casino Drive project.  On October 9, 2008, the County and RFCD entered into an interlocal contract for the subject project.  Supplemental No. 1 dated December 11, 2008, increased design engineering, right-of-way and environmental mitigation funds.  Supplemental No. 2 dated December 8, 2011, increased design engineering, right-of-way and environmental mitigation funds and extended the completion date.  Supplemental No. 3 dated June 9, 2016, extended the term of the contract.  Supplemental No. 4 dated June 14, 2018, extended the project completion date.  Supplemental No. 5 dated April 2, 2019, increased total funds for design.

The attached Supplemental No. 6 to the interlocal contract will increase total funds for design engineering to determine sediment control improvements to minimize sediment transport downstream towards the Colorado River, including environmental permitting and other associated appurtenances.  Supplemental No. 6 will also extend the term of the contract from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2026 for the subject project.

This project is identified on RFCD's Ten-Year Construction Program for Fiscal Year 2020-2021.  RFCD approved the supplemental contract at its meeting on March 11, 2021.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the supplemental contract as to form.
