Initial contract amount was $1,000,000. Supplemental No. 1 decrease of $500,000 revises the total contract value to $500,000. RTC will continue to provide funding for all costs associated with this project. Clark County is not obligated to pay any of the project costs.

BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) Freeway and Arterial System of Transportation (FAST) Department was awarded a Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) grant to test new technology for signal preemption on Charleston Boulevard within the jurisdictions of Clark County and City of Las Vegas that may improve efficiency for emergency vehicles. On September 14, 2023, RTC approved funding for the Charleston Boulevard Emergency Preemption Pilot SMART Grant Match project to be used along with funds received from the SMART grant award. The Board of County Commissioners approved this contract on October 17, 2023. RTC is identified as the lead agency for the project.

Supplemental No. 1 to Interlocal Contract No. 3112 decreases the contract amount to account for scope changes. The time of performance remains effective until December 31, 2028, unless term is extended or entirely terminated.

RTC approved the first supplemental contract at its meeting on May 22, 2025.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the first supplemental contract as to form.
