BACKGROUND:
The County Capital Projects Fund (4370) interest earnings from the prior year are sufficient to fund the recommended projects essential to public safety, delivery of services and necessary maintenance. Per the County’s cost containment program, non-recurring resources should be used to fund non-recurring expenditures such as capital.
The recommended allocation for the County Capital Projects Fund (4370) is $125,920,951.
The County collects a $0.05 tax on each $100 of assessed valuation in the Special Ad Valorem Distribution Fund (2130). The County’s portion of the tax is transferred to the Special Ad Valorem Capital Projects Fund (4160) for the funding of major capital projects. $36,244,155 is available from this fund to complete the Clark County Detention Center South Tower Renovation project.
The recommended allocation for the Special Ad Valorem Capital Projects Fund (4160) is $36,244,155.
The County’s Parks and Recreation Improvements Fund (4140) is utilized for the development and improvement of the County’s Park and Recreation facilities. $4.0 million is available in this fund for the completion of the Silverado Ranch Community Center.
The recommended allocation for the Parks and Recreation Improvements Fund (4140) is $4,000,000.
