BACKGROUND: 

On May 5, 2020, the Board of County Commissioners allocated $30,000 in County grant funds to the City of Las Vegas for the West Las Vegas Arts Center, a Nevada non-profit organization, to assist with operating support.  The goal of the City of Las Vegas for the West Las Vegas Arts Center is to provide a mentoring program to youth in low-income neighborhoods in need of basic skills that address reading, listening, writing, and speaking with self-assured confidence and poise.

During Fiscal Year 2021, funds will be used to provide mainstream arts and humanity activities to children ages 10-18 residing in low-income areas of Clark County.  The Performing and Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids program curriculum goals are to provide youth with character-building life skills that will generate positive influences throughout their academic years.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved this Interlocal Agreement as to form and the City of Las Vegas West Las Vegas Arts Center has accepted the terms and conditions contained in the Interlocal Agreement.
