BACKGROUND:

On June 21, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved and authorized the acquisition by negotiation of a portion of Assessor's Parcel Number 162-23-310-007 (Centennial Commerce, LLC, a Nevada limited liability company) needed for the improvements to Harmon Avenue between Maryland Parkway and Boulder Highway. Public Works staff has attempted to contact the property owners several times, however to no avail. In the event that the attempts remain unsuccessful, authorization to initiate a condemnation action is being requested from the Board.

Nevada Revised Statute 241.034 and the Resolution of Clark County adopted on September 5, 2006, requires the County to serve the property owners with written notice informing the property owners that the County will be considering acquiring the property by eminent domain.  Such notice was mailed in a timely manner prior to the submission of this item to the Board of County Commissioners.
