BACKGROUND:
The contract will allow for the procurement of replacement parts, equipment and supplies critical to the maintenance of the passenger boarding bridges at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). Oshkosh Aerotech, LLC (Company) is the manufacturer of the passenger boarding bridges utilized at LAS and is the sole provider of these parts.
The bridges at LAS receive heavy use and this, combined with the harsh desert environment, puts additional stress on this equipment. The Clark County Department of Aviation maintains an inventory of these proprietary replacement parts to keep these essential pieces of equipment operating safely and efficiently.
The initial term of the contract is from date of award through October 31, 2027, with the option to renew for up to four additional one-year periods at an annual not-to-exceed cost of $2,250,000.00.
In accordance with NRS 332.115(1)(a) and (d), this contract is not adapted to award by competitive solicitation as it is for items which may only be contracted from a sole source; and equipment which, by reason of the training of the personnel or of an inventory of replacement parts maintained by the local government is compatible with existing equipment, respectively.
The contract has been approved as to form by the District Attorney’s Office. Company holds a current Clark County business license.
