BACKGROUND:
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) is governed by an 11-member policy-making board composed of representatives from municipalities, Clark County, a licensed physician in the State of Nevada, and individuals from non-gaming and gaming businesses.
The SNHD Board of Health identifies public health needs and, as mandated by Clark County Ordinance No. 163, establishes priorities on behalf of local taxpayers, residents, visitors, and the commercial service industry through policy development and direction to staff.
Commissioner Segerblom is currently serving as one of Clark County's two (2) representatives on the SNHD Board of Health. At the March 4, 2025, County Commission meeting, Commissioner Segerblom announced his intent to resign from the SNHD Board of Health. Moreover, Commissioner Segerblom indicated that Commissioner Becker be appointed to the vacant position.
The County Commission is asked to appoint Commissioner Becker to serve as one of Clark County's representatives on the SNHD Board of Health. The term of appointment will be for two (2) years.
