BACKGROUND: 

The claim is a result of a motor vehicle accident on May 12, 2024, whereby the Clark County driver failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of the claimant vehicle.  The total property damage was at $10,033.63. Total medical treatment for Gloria Jones was approximately $105,515.75.

Through negotiations with legal counsel for the claimants, the claimant has agreed to accept $122,500 in settlement of the bodily injury claim to avoid any further costs and legal expenses of possible litigation in this case. If the settlement is approved, the County would also avoid costs and expenses of any future litigation.

The proposed settlement for $122,500 has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
