BACKGROUND: 

This case pending before the Supreme Court of Nevada is considering novel questions of law that will likely have a significant impact for public entities regarding promotional decisions as a mandatory subject of bargaining under NRS 288.150 and public entity obligations to provide confidential investigative materials through the grievance process.

Clark County is not a party to this appeal.  Approval of this item would confirm the permission for the District Attorney's office to submit an amicus brief, or alternatively to join another amicus brief, in support of the Southern Nevada Health District's positions and the Employee-Management Relations Board's decision that is the subject of the appeal.
