BACKGROUND:

Pursuant to NRS 237.090, a Business Impact Statement (BIS) was prepared for the proposed ordinance to amend Title 13, Chapter 13.08 of the Clark County Code to adopt and amend the 2024 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code (IWUIC).

On September 22, 2025, the Clark County Fire Department posted a public notice in the Las Vegas Review-Journal and sent notice via email on September 22, 2025, to all industry stakeholder associations.  The notification and proposed ordinance changes were also posted on the ClarkCountyNV.gov website in the fire department/fire prevention public notice section and made available for public viewing at both fire department/fire prevention customer lobbies.  A 15-day public comment period was opened, during which the department received zero (0) responses.

The BIS concludes that the proposed ordinance will not impose a direct and significant economic burden upon a business and does not directly restrict the formation, operation, or expansion of a business. Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners accept and approve the BIS as required under NRS 237.090.
