BACKGROUND:
Assembly Bill 396, sponsored by Speaker Steve Yeager, appropriated a total of $12 million from the State General Fund to Clark County for programs for rental assistance to persons who are elderly, persons with disabilities and families or persons facing an unanticipated emergency.
The funding will be allocated in two tranches in the following sums:
For the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 ............................... $6,000,000
For the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 ............................... $6,000,000
This item is for acceptance of the $6 million for FY23-24. Upon acceptance of the funding, the County will be mandated to prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance Committee on or before December 20, 2024, that describes each expenditure made from the date on which the money was received by Clark County through December 1, 2024.
