BACKGROUND:
In response to substantiated non-compliance with the Clark County Code at the business locations, the Clark County Department of Business License (CCBL) issued a Notice of Show Cause Hearing on why the business licenses issued to Sam Aldabbagh d/b/a Can Can Room and Sam Aldabbagh d/b/a Video City should not be suspended, revoked, or non-renewed pursuant to Clark County Code 6.04.100.
A hearing was then held before a hearing officer. Thereafter, on or about May 9, 2022, the licensee executed “Out of Business” forms for both licenses and submitted the same to the Department.
On May 24, 2022, the hearing officer issued his Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law, and Decision, wherein the hearing officer recommended that the Board suspend the above-referenced licenses through December 31, 2022. On June 2, 2022, the licensee filed a timely objection to the hearing officer’s recommendation for suspension but then withdrew the objection on June 7, 2022.
Pursuant to Clark County Code 2.68.040, in the absence of an objection to the hearing officer’s findings, the board may proceed to adopt the findings of the hearing officer and impose the hearing officer’s recommendation to suspend the above-mentioned business licenses through December 31, 2022.
