BACKGROUND:
On December 17, 2025, the Clark County Redevelopment Agency Board (RDA) approved the development of a grant for the Chinatown and Koreatown redevelopment areas. The grant provides up to $75,000 in financial support to grant award recipients.
The RDA received 36 completed applications. Completed applications were reviewed and scored by a committee of staff and community stakeholders. The committee recommends partially and fully funding 26 of the reviewed applications for a total of $1,276,217.07.
Pursuant to NRS 279.486, the Board of County Commissioners must consent to a proposed redevelopment project before the RDA may pay for all or part of the cost of the construction or installation of any improvements. The Board may thereafter consent to the project only if it finds that the improvements will benefit the redevelopment area or the immediate neighborhood and no other reasonable means of financing the improvements are available.
In consideration of the factors set forth in NRS 279.486, staff recommend that the RDA approve the grant applications and Board of County Commissioners find that the improvements will be of benefit to the Redevelopment Area or the immediate neighborhood in which the Redevelopment Area is located. The grant awards will empower property owners, tenants, and community partners to make visible, lasting improvements to properties within the Redevelopment Area, which will encourage the creation of new businesses and development, create jobs, increase local revenues, strengthen the area's role as a regional cultural destination, and advance the goals of the Inspiring Spring Mountain Redevelopment Plan. No other reasonable means of financing these improvements are available
