BACKGROUND:

The State and Federal government imposes a wide spectrum of responsibilities on local government, agencies, and hospitals to deal with potential hazards in their communities.  In order to address these issues, the State Emergency Response Commission has delegated supplemental funds from the FY21 to assist in community preparedness.

Pursuant to NRS 277.180 and 277.045, staff is presenting the Board with an interlocal agreement with the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe in order to govern the distribution of funds from the SERC United We Stand Supplemental Grant to pay for rifle sights and mounts for the Las Vegas Paiute Police Department.

Grant funding must be encumbered within the grant performance period of October 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.  Las Vegas Paiute Tribe will be responsible for encumbering and expending grant funds on a reimbursement basis from the Clark County Office of Emergency Management.

Staff recommends approval of the interlocal agreement between Clark County and the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe.
