BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Department of Family Services has received funding from the State of Nevada Division of Child and Family Service to continuously fund the Child Welfare Integration process and functions in Southern Nevada.

Approval of this item will provide for the coordination, enhanced and improved services in the areas of licensing family foster homes, independent living foster homes or group foster homes; and ensure training of employees who have direct contact with children  in care.

The award process for this grant differs from the normal grant application process as funding is made available to the State and passed through to DFS without advance notice, application submission or competitive process.  In addition, funding availability is not known until an award notice is received from the State.

Staff requests the Board approve the acceptance of the grant subaward.
