The initial Contract amount was $517,467 for the initial term. Amendment No. 1 will increase the fee structure and the total Contract amount is subject to change based on future grants and on the volume of participants in the program, which is controlled by the courts and upon approved budget appropriations. |
BACKGROUND:
On December 23, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 605459-19 to Charleston Residential dba Crossroads of Southern Nevada (NBE), Freedom House Sober Living, Inc. (NBE) and any future providers deemed qualified, to provide a comprehensive community based primary prevention plan that places opioid impacted individuals released from prison into housing with intensive outpatient counseling and treatment before re-entering the community.
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
• The term of the Contract was from August 1, 2019 through July 31, 2020 and included the option to renew for 4, one-year periods. There are 3 renewal options remaining.
• Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract with advanced written notice.
• Additional providers identified will be qualified by the Eighth Judicial District Court in accordance with requirements of the grant.
Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide additional services for participants, increase the rate for Transitional Housing with Case Management Cost from $28.22 to $30.00 and incorporate grant flow-down clauses into the Contract. The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications and costs involved.
